PurringPyjamas Christmas Collection 2018: Bling, Snow & Winter Greens

Hello! Ah, it’s so nice to finally release this Christmas collection! It’s been in the works for a few months now – all of the sweaters are “Ready to ship”, so I needed to roll up the sleeves, do quite a bit of knitting, and weave in those endless ends (pun wasn’t intended, but let’s just keep it there 😀 ). And hey, before you start shouting at me for talking about Christmas in early October – I am just trying to make sure everyone receives their Christmas gifts and jumpers for their family pictures! Considering I am shipping from Finland, and both the weather and the post office work in mysterious ways, it’s always nice to receive your stuff better early than late! Now after all that is cleared up, let’s get into the collection (yay!). 🙂

This collection contains 8 sweaters, and 3 of them have bows! I love bows, can you tell, haha? The first sweater is made from a very soft acrylic yarn that’s meant for babies, so rest assured – this sweater is REALLY soft, and it won’t irritate even the most sensitive skin. It is also very stretchy! It is available in quite a few sizes, so if you’re interested in checking it out, you can do so here: Red lace.

The next sweater is made of wool. The yarn has beautiful alternating red shades, but that’s not all! It also has a thin gold thread running through it, making the sweater shiny. It definitely won’t blind you, but it’s a nice detail that adds something interesting to the overall look of the sweater. It also features the very loved velvet bow and a ruby red bead. The third member of the bow family is this very Christmasy sweater in green & red colors. It features a cute velvet bow and a faux pearl. It’s a perfect choice for all the lovers of everything classy and elegant! The sweater is made of acrylic, making it really soft. Another thing I’ve been loving lately is pom poms. I think they’re so fun, and can instantly make any and every sweater cute and festive!

For the first sweater I chose the classical bright Christmas red for the yarn and the 3 pom poms that shout Christmas, winter & fun – green, white & red! There’s also a “catch” with these pom poms – they’re shiny! Yep, these pom poms are fluffy, and all that fluff blings like there’s no tomorrow! The yarn is 75% wool & 25 polyamide, which means it is perfect for those winter evenings, when everybody just wants to be cozy. The second sweater is everything we love about winter! Well, if you love winter that is. Build a snowman with your kitty with the help of this sweater! Many people think of color red when they hear the word “Christmas”. But Christmas to me is also all the greenery – the Christmas tree, the wreath… I love green!

The first sweater is very stretchy and has a nice fluff to it due to the yarn containing mohair. It’s also very soft and light, but it will surely keep your kitty warm even on the coldest of nights! And last, but definitely not the least, is this sweater. Or should I say a waistcoat? Well, it can be whatever you want it to be! It is made of 100% wool mint color yarn, and definitely is comfy and stretchy. And while you might argue this sweater is not very Christmasy… Well, it IS Christmasy to me! I don’t know exactly what’s so festive about it, maybe the light mint color, or maybe the shiny gold accents just remind me of calm of the wintertime, and that peaceful feeling of the Christmas eve. The softest sweaters in the world are here!

Well hello there! The last time I posted here almost a year ago… How crazy is that?! Life happened I suppose. Sometimes we just get so invested in our works, and routines that we (unfortunately) forget about the things we enjoy. And blogging is one of them for me! But enough of rambling – that’s not what you came here for! Let’s dive into this new super soft fuzzy blog post and many adorable pictures of my hairless monkey cats are to follow!

I am pretty sure that if you checked out my shop, or Facebook, or Instagram at some point this spring, you’ve probably seen these fuzzy sweaters already. You may ask – well why you keep on posting about them, what’s so special about it? Well, firstly, now this style sweaters are available in 9 (yes, NINE!!!) different colors. How awesome is that?!

But colors is not the only (or most important) thing I want to emphasize here. I just… I just can’t get enough of these super awesome sweaters, and neither can my cats! They feel so cozy wearing them when it’s chilly outside. And you know what else is awesome? These sweaters are made from yarn meant for babies. They’re literally the softest thing you will ever touch in your life (besides your Sphynx, if (s)he happens to have a peach fuzz). They’re VERY soft, VERY warm, VERY cute, VERY stretchy, and the best of all – ANY and EVERY cat will love one of these sweaters. They are definitely the most comfortable and soft sweaters I’ve ever made, and believe me – that’s a huge statement considering I made almost 300 (288 to be precise) different designs since 2015.

I just love these sweaters so much! I think you can see in the pictures as well that my cats are feeling really comfy. Beliza was constantly half asleep, because they’re so warm and cozy! #photoshootproblems, haha!

Summer vibes in snowy Finland

Hello everyone! Are you feeling the summer vibes already? Over here in Finland the summer is felt only in my colorful cat sweaters as it’s snowing behind my window as I am writing this blog post right now… Let’s just say summer definitely isn’t in a rush to visit Finland this year! And talking about cat sweaters, you’re probably wondering: hey, Asta, we understand it’s snowing in Finland in the mid May, but come on – other countries have normal climates and are baking in the sun already, so… where are all the summer goodies, huh? Well, they just arrived! The new collection was released last week in my PurringPyjamas shop on Etsy, and now I finally found a few free minutes to quickly introduce it. Are you ready?

The first 3 sweaters are super cute, super colorful and super soft. They’re also very light, stretchy and give that oh so needed protection from the sun for your hairless family member. These sweaters let the skin breathe very well, so your kitty will feel comfy while wearing them. The yarn is 70% cotton & 30 acrylic, which means that the sweaters won’t irritate even the most sensitive skin. Because they’re so light and stretchy, they’re also good for the first time wearers and cats who don’t like thicker sweaters!

I also decided to decorate these cute stripey sweaters with some beads I bought last year. I really like the little spicy vibe that they give to each sweater – from very sunny and bright yellows to more subtle brown hues. Now this sweater doesn’t really belong to any collection, but I loved the yarn, so I thought to myself – “Why not to make something cute with it?”. So I did! I hand crocheted this cutie from cotton yarn and added a few white rose beads. Bling The World: New Super Soft Swarovski Sweaters Are Out!

Hello! I hope you’ve been doing well and the spring has been showering you all in nice and warm sun! Today I come here with a new post about the very new release in PurringPyjamas shop – it’s super soft, cute, very high quality and it blings… Yes, it sounds like a dream, right? Well, because it is a real dream for your precious kitty!

These sweaters are made from a very high quality Alpaca and wool blend yarn (70% alpaca, 23% polyamide & 7% wool). The sweaters are extremely soft, very light and super warm. Here’s a little more info about this magical yarn:

“A new and exciting “blow yarn” made from soft baby alpaca and cozy and warm merino wool. Its construction is unique, based on the newest yarn technologies, where instead of spinning, the fibers of baby alpaca and merino wool are air blown into a tube, which makes the garments made in this yarn about 30-35% lighter than those made with conventional spun yarns of the same thickness.”

“But why you chose to make the sweaters so… simple?” – you might ask. Fair question! I think that beauty often is in simplicity. I see so many beautifully made sweaters out there, with all these intricate ornaments and patterns, and sometimes it’s just a little bit too much. I think it’s important to be creative and try out new things, but we also should remember the very roots where we came from. Yes, it is a very basic pattern, but hey – the gorgeousness of the yarn and the little tiny bling of some Swarovski crystals make these sweaters so beautiful!

Again, you may ask another question – but why these Swarovski crystals are almost the same color as the sweaters? Why didn’t you put dark blue crystals on a white sweater or light pink crystals – on gray? Well, there is an answer to this question too – I wanted this collection to be subtle. For this reason, all the sweaters have bling, but it doesn’t shout from the distance. It is meant to give a little something special to this beautiful yarn, but not to overpower it. Over time, I released many different sweaters – some with very bright colors and complicated patterns, while others were subtle and minimal. These sweaters are an ode to simplicity.

Love For Cats & Neon Hearts

As autumn is quickly approaching and warm summer days soon will be long gone, I decided to play with colors. It’s always nice to have something colorful around in the wintertime, isn’t it? But this time I didn’t hold myself back with muted colors – I went for the bright neon ones! And – of course – I combined all the brightness with the love we have for our best friends, and that’s how these neon heart sweaters were born.

The first sweater is dark gray color with 3 rows of bright pink hearts around the collar. I really love the pop of color that it gives to otherwise simple and plain sweater. There’s nothing wrong with being simple (I always think that often less is more), but in this case I think that these little hearts are a very cute addition and would brighten up everyone’s mood instantly. This sweater was a bit of an experiment. I just couldn’t make up my mind as to whether I should stick to more conservative style or should I just go all in. In the end I decided to make it more playful, therefore it has so much more bright colors than the other sweaters from this range. There’s only one sweater available, so it’s definitely a one of a kind choice for everyone who isn’t afraid of some colorful things! And the last, but definitely not the least is this cute deep blue sweater with neon lime green hearts. It is more conservative than the previous one and will fulfill the needs of everyone, who wants something more reserved, but still likes some pop of color. Soft colors and bright moods

It’s been a while since I last posted over here. But time flies so fast! And so with it everything not only passes, but there also appear new exciting things! And that’s what this quick blog post is about – the new cute sweaters that are available in PurringPyjamas Etsy shop.

The first two sweaters I actually made while being on the road. I took a little road trip in the Southern Finland, so while sitting in the passenger’s seat and enjoying the view I decided to also do something useful. Especially that I just got the yarn these two sweaters are made of. Both sweaters are crocheted. The first sweater’s yellow yarn is 100% acrylic, while the shiny green one has 60% mohair and 40% acrylic. You can get them both or either one over here: Yellow Dreams, Tortie Fluffs.

Moving forward we find stripes. Because who doesn’t love them? The first sweater has beautiful yellow, blue, white, green & dark gray stripes. The yarn is really high quality and made in the UK, so I was happily waiting for it to arrive. It’s called after the bird blue tit (see the picture below), and I think it looks gorgeous! Here’s another crocheted sweater. It is very soft, because it’s made from the yarn meant for knitting baby clothes, so believe me when I say that it will not irritate even the most sensitive kitty’s skin! It has a beautiful pattern and is made of 100% acrylic yarn. This striped beauty is available here: Blue Stripes.

And now let’s go from something soft and light to something soft and really warm. This beautiful ombre effect sweater is made of 70% acrylic and 30% wool yarn. It is incredibly soft and keeps the warmth well, while also letting the skin to breath. It is available in 2 sizes, and you can get it here: Soft Ombre.

And now let’s talk about the classics – red and black. The red sweater is made of 75% wool & 25% polyamide yarn and is incredibly stretchy and warm. Black sweaters are made of 100% polyacrylic yarn, which means they’re incredibly soft and will not irritate kitties’ skin. And how about the cute beads they’re decorated with? And the last, but definitely not the least is this very fun sweater. You know, it is perfect for times when you kind of wish to pet something fluffy, but your naked sphinx kitty just ain’t doing it. From classy lace & pearls to modern mohair & crystals

Hello everyone! It’s been a while since I last posted over here showing off the new designs in my shop. Today I want to share with you some of the designs I’ve been thinking about for a long time, just didn’t have enough time to actually make them. I hope you will like what you see, ‘cause I am really satisfied with the result!

Firstly, let’s start with classy things. These sweaters feature beautiful lace flowers and pearls, so your kitty will be classy from head (or ear!) to toe! The black sweater is incredibly soft, because it is made from 100% polyacrylic yarn, so it will not irritate even the most sensitive skin. It is also a great sweater for cats who don’t like wearing clothes or they have never worn any sweater before. The blue sweater is made from yarn, that consists of 30% wool and 70% polyamide. Now here comes something modern and fancy. As soon as I saw this bright colored yarn in the shop, I just knew I had to have it, ‘cause it would make some great material for amazing sweaters! And I would say I was right! I really enjoyed making these sweaters, trying to fit different beads, choosing best colors, variations, etc. Overall, I am really satisfied with the result. The yarn is 63% mohair, 27% acrylic & 10% polyester, which means that sweaters are not only very nice and fluffy looking, but also extremely warm and super stretchy. And for all of you who love mohair sweaters out there, let me tell you a secret… At the moment, I am working on more sweaters from mohair yarn! Whoop, I am guessing your kitties will stay very warm and stylish during this winter! But for now, you can get these gorgeous sweaters over here: Green mohair, Pink mohair.

Now these two sweaters might cheat you into thinking they’re made of mohair yarn too… But no, they’re not! 🙂 But it doesn’t make them any less beautiful or worthy! These sweaters are made of yarn that consists of 44% wool, 24% acrylic, 20% polyester & 10% polyamide. The sweaters are very warm, stretchy, and, of course, very stylish! This sweater was made without having any prior idea as to what it will look like in the end. I just grabbed the yarn, started knitting and watched where it would take me. And so that’s how this funky looking hoodie was made! The yarn is 50% wool and 50% acrylic, which makes this sweater very warm, but it also breaths very well. Here is another interesting design – this little curly vest. It will keep your kitty super comfy, because it doesn’t restrict the movement, but still warms your kitty. This vest is made of 100% wool yarn. You can get right here: Curly vest.

And last, but definitely not least is this green sweater, which has this super interesting pattern. I’ve had this yarn for so long, but I could never think of any ideas as to what I would do with it. But one evening I sat down and decided to finally start knitting something from it. I looked through so many different knitting patterns, and this one just stood out. As soon as I saw it, I knew that this is the right pattern for this sweater. The sweater is very thick and made from 100% wool, so it will keep your kitty very warm even on the coldest nights. The Jungle Spirit

And here we are again – a week later there’s more sweaters and more designs coming to my shop! This time it’s all about those bright and beautiful spring colors.

These first sweaters are from “Colibri” series. It was a limited edition yarn, which (unfortunately) I found a little bit too late, so I could grab only couple different balls that were still left. I absolutely love the color of this yarn – it’s so bright and just associates with warmth, sun, good mood and great times! The yarn is not only beautiful looking, but also is very thick due to the pattern I chose for these sweaters. It consists of 100% acrylic, which means that it’s soft and doesn’t irritate even the most sensitive skin. Only blue colibri (the middle one) is still available, so make sure to grab it if you want it! You can get it here: Blue Colibri.

Another sweater continues the jungle theme. Because where else could you see such an elegant leopard?! Well, probably at your home if you get one of these sweaters! This style is available in few sizes, so it will make quite a few kitties happy and wild. The sweater is hand knitted, while the decorations around neck, bottom of the sweater and sleeves are hand crocheted. This sweater was designed very fast and impulsively as I didn’t know how I want it to look like once it’s finished. But I am happy with the result – I think it looks really good! The yarn is 75% wool and 25% polyamide, so it’s very warm and breaths really well. You can get the sweater here: Elegant Leopard.

Now this sweater is a real improvisation! I started it with this beautiful brown yarn that has tiny golden threads in it and ended up with soft wool & mohair mix. This sweater is really comfy and will keep your kitty really warm! Peach color yarn is 48% acrylic, 32% polyamide, 10% wool and 10% mohair, while the brown one consists of 100% acrylic. And the last, but definitely not the least is this sweater made of 100% acrylic yarn with little golden threads. I am really unsatisfied, that it was quite impossible to show in the pictures all the shine that it has, but my camera just refuses to see what I see! 🙂 Probably it’s because the golden shine shows up in certain light and only in some parts of the sweater. PurringPyjamas Halloween Collection 2015: Eat, Drink And Be Scary!

Even though it’s only September (or, actually, ALREADY September), I started planning Halloween collection for PurringPyjamas back in the summer. And even though lately I’ve been crazy busy, I managed to finish and put up all the sweaters for sale like couple of weeks ago. And, well, PurringPyjamas blog apparently got a little forgotten… But not anymore! I started doing some more time planning, so I’m hoping to be posting over here at least once a week. Yay, more cute and soft cats coming! Because internet can never have too many cat pictures and videos. Ever.

Anyway, so here it is – Halloween collection that I finally finished! Let’s get into it.

So the very first sweater is one of the Halloween essentials – I mean, come on, who doesn’t have skulls on Halloween? We have human skulls (fake ones, hopefully, but you can have whatever makes you happy) at home, but I decided to pimp the cats with cat skulls. Because why would the cat be interested in us, humans? 😀 Let the cat have this super cool and super warm cat skull sweater.

When I was thinking about Halloween collection, I always had in my mind this picture of a cat sitting on the moon. So yeah, I guess you got the cat and all you need now is…the moon! And this sweater gives you exactly that. It also gives to your cat warm pleasures and is very soft.

Now this one is definitely another one (and probably the main) of Halloween essentials – pumpkin! Believe it or not, I have never ever carved a pumpkin in my life, because over here in Europe (at least in Lithuania and Finland) people don’t really celebrate Halloween. So at least I can keep up the Halloween spirit through this cool pumpkin sweater!

And the last, but definitely not the least is this orange sweater with a bat. Yep, I’ve never seen a bat either, but I think they’re insanely cute! So that’s the story behind this sweater: I like bats, they’re cute, they’re also associated with Halloween, so why not let your cat to rock a sweater with bats?
